2022

Zainy Hub vs. CCP Thugs

The thug community was mainly occupied by Zainy Hub (Gury), and CCP Thugs (Original). It was the absolute peak of thugging, with each server having thousands of members. In late December, the unexpected happened; Zainy Hub was shockingly taken down by Discord, with speculation that the CCP Thugs were behind this by mass reporting the Zainy Hub server. Zainyvisual, the owner of Zainy Hub, then made a backup server and promised to get revenge on the CCP Thugs.

Several days later, ZainyHub thugs succeeded in getting revenge on the CCP Thugs by taking down their server the same way the CCP did to them prior. 

With both Zainy Hub and CCP Thugs’ main servers dead, the thug community was never the same again…

2023

The thug community has now seen many new thug servers being established, with each one of them trying to get to the top of the hill. Even Zainy Hub and CCP Thugs themselves tried to make a comeback several times, but this time it was totally different. Discord started committing all-out ban waves on their platform. They have succeeded in taking down every single thug server out there, including the newer versions of Zainy Hub and CCP Thugs. It marked a whole new era of Discord’s thugphobia era. 

This led to many members of the thug community retiring. The thug community was on downhill throughout the year 2023. Thug servers weren’t around as much as before, as it was pointless to make a thug server at that time, since it would take a week or two before Discord eventually wipes it out. The birth of Pyongyang Thugs Around mid-2023, CCP Thugs were still alive and had made a new server for themselves.

The birth of Pyongyang Thugs

Around mid-2023, CCP Thugs were still alive and had made a new server for themselves. Everything was going well until that one day, when Thug Hunter, the CCP Thugs’ owner, was accused of lying about a certain matter which involved one of his CCP admins possessing cp (child pornography). When both parties were confronted, the CCP admin denied all of the allegations that were leveled against him, while Thug Hunter had a completely different story and unexpectedly did not say much. This led to all of the CCP admins and moderators splitting away from the CCP Thugs and creating their own… Pyongyang Thugs. 

Days later, CCP Thugs officially shut down and Thug Hunter announced his retirement from the thug community. The Pyongyang Thugs launched their cause, gathering all of the remaining CCP thuggers and evolving into what had been the biggest thugging server at the time.

Over the span of three months, particularly June, July, and August of 2023, Pyongyang Thugs was the most active and charismatic thugging server, gathering hundreds of thugs and actively thugging on a daily basis. It involved notable names such as Mercury, NoLxve, Facer, Ghosty, Zentrx, Sean Xavier, DJButtPussy, Michael Heard, Conv, and many other thugs who helped in making that community into the glory it had back then. Pyongyang Thugs had succeeded in producing hundreds, possibly even thousands of thug clips throughout the months of June, July, and August. It marked such a great era in the thug community after all what it had been through prior.

Pyongyang Thugs’ server was a victim of the horrible ban waves committed by Discord. It got taken down several times in its lifetime before eventually shutting down completely in late-2023. Pyongyang Thugs have never been seen since.

2024

A new, not so promising era for the thug community 

The thug community was at a critical point going into the year 2024, with Discord going even stronger with its ban waves and its thugphobic acts. The community has mainly seen new thug servers being made, like fake CCP variants, and Zainy Hub admins trying to come back as Gury, but all of them eventually failed.

The war of Thugs vs. Child Predators (the so called “Thugboreans”)

In late-2024, an unexpected group suddenly showed up out of nowhere in the thug community; those were the Thugboreans. They were anti-Thugs whose main goal was attacking thugs and thug servers. Those anti-thugs used unique raiding techniques that were banned and disliked by thugs. They used illegal child pornography in their raids to try and take down the remaining thug servers at the time.

It was deemed the worst era of the entirety of the thug community. Thugs kept getting raided by those Thugboreans heavily. It was a rough time for all thugs, people got traumatized seeing that disgusting child pornography. Thug servers went on lockdown, and the thugs were scared to even do normal thugging in public because of the poison that grew onto them. 

However, the thugs didn’t just sit by and do nothing; they decided to strike back at the Thugboreans. They have committed mass reporting campaigns targeted at the Thugboreans’ servers. Thugs have succeeded in taking down their servers numerous times, while the Thugboreans kept attacking back, through what had formed into an all-out horrifying war at the time.

More notably, an unexpected alliance was formed among all of the surviving thug servers. CCP Thugs, DPRK Thugs, SSB Thugs, and a couple of other thug servers, after ages of beefing against each other and being separated into different hoods, for the very first time in history have finally united into one force, forming the United Thug Caliphate, the biggest and most impactful thug association ever. With that, they battled the Thugboreans and successfully put them down.

The Notorious Thugs, and the final days of thugging 

In mid-2024, an old member of the thug community and a long-renowned thugger, The Notorious Conv, with the help of his closest ally, Delaware/Draco, created his own thug hood, called The Notorious Thugs/Convicts Irony.

Conv was fed up with what had fallen upon the thug community in its final days. Thugging was not like how it used to be in the older days. It had drastically changed. It was not about gay black irony anymore; instead, it had shifted into this weird cringe earrape and shock memes trend. That is the sole reason behind why the Notorious Thugs was created.

Although the Notorious Thugs didn’t live for that long, in its short lifespan, it managed to bring back old-school gay black thuggery, something that hadn’t been seen in years. This alone was enough to make it so impactful that it was the biggest thug archive server at the time. It was just like the old days again; memes were finally great again and actually funny instead of the new gen nonsense. It was truly memorable.

It wasn’t long before the Notorious Thugs got caught by Discord’s ban waves and the attacks of the Thugboreans; it, too, was being heavily targeted by those two. The server got banned and re created a total of 8 times in its short history. The Notorious Thugs was shut down at the end, and the leader of the Notorious Thugs, The Notorious Conv himself, officially announced retirement from the thug community after nearly 5 years of involvement and dedication to the community. He had cut all ties with the community and disappeared from the internet world for around 6 months and was never seen again in public.

2025

Conclusion

“It was truly a long journey. A lot has happened in this damned community. This paper doesn’t even mention all of the things that happened, and I’m pretty sure there are way more major shit that happened; I just mentioned what I remembered. Nevertheless, disregarding how fucked up the community and the things we do are, we’ve been through a lot. The art and spirit of gay black irony lives through every single thug out there and shall never die.”

Will thugging ever return again?

“It’s unlikely. I’m pretty sure there are people who are still doing it to this day, but let’s just face it—the community is dead, and it’ll never be like how it was back then. The only probability that I see for a possible return to the thug community is when a new pandemic hits again and the world goes on lockdown just like with covid. It’ll be just like how it all began…”
